Emergency Vet Care
Sometimes our furry friends love to give us a scare and send
us running to the nearest emergency room! Although we do our best to keep your pet safe at all times, we know that
anything is possible when we are outside with the public (or
even indoors!).
* Your pet getting stung by an insect.
* Your pet ingesting something they were not supposed to
while on a walk/at home.
* Any other non-invasive, low-cost procedure.
At Happy Paws, we always strive to provide the best care
and attention to your furry friends, and we do everything
we can to ensure their safety. However, in the rare event of
an emergency while under our care, we cannot be held
responsible for veterinary costs. While we do everything in
our power to prevent accidents, we understand that they
can happen.
If the emergency vet costs are significant, we will promptly
reach out to our insurance and do everything we can to
support you during this time.

Cancellation
We love it when we get to spend time with our fur-clients and have a paw-tastic sleepover! When booking, please be advised that a deposit of 25% of the stay value will be required for any pet-sitting requests.
This deposit is refundable if given a 3 weeks cancellation notice. If a cancellation is done within 48 hours of the scheduled stay, an extra 25% fee will be charged. Cancellations due to family emergencies or health issues can be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

Do you offer pack walks?
Pack walks are offered to clients who have no reactivity issues, and enjoy the company of other dogs. Each walker will be responsible for 3 dogs maximum (unless the pets are from the same household).

Will my dog(s) be off-leash?
No. For everyone’s safety, and out of respect for every being enjoying the park/walking routes, we will keep your pet leashed at all times.

How do payments work?
You can pay at the end of the week- either by e-transfer (preferred), or cash. We will provide an invoice if you desire a breakdown of the services rendered!

Do you have experience handling reactive dogs?
Yes! At Happy Paws, we are ready to accommodate all pets and their needs. You can book a meet-and-greet to discuss the best action plan for you and your pet so they too can safely and comfortably enjoy the great outdoors

Can I reschedule?
Yes! We understand that life is unpredictable and emergencies happen, hence we work with open communication and ask to be given as much notice as possible.

Can you feed my dog after a walk?
Yes. Do let us know the appropriate portions for your pooch and we will be happy to serve them a delicious meal.

Can I cancel an appointment?
If a cancellation is done within 24 hours of the walk, 50% of the walk price will be charged. If a cancellation is done within 3 hours of the scheduled walk, the full price will be charged. Cancellations due to family emergencies or health issues can be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

What is your extreme weather policy?
We are constantly monitoring the weather for any particular changes. We value the safety of our furry friends and staff. If there is an extreme heat or cold warning, we will keep walks short and will notify you of any cancellations. We also offer drop-in visits for these particular situations. During the Summer months, we always have water on us so your pet can stay hydrated. During the Winter months, we love to see our babies in their cute clothes, little boots, and comfy jackets.

Do I need to provide poop bags?
We can use any materials you already have, and we are more than happy to provide our own.

Will I get updates?
Yes. We provide an update via text with information about your pet’s trip (potty breaks, behaviour, etc.). We also will send you very cute photos!

Do you enforce training?
We are happy to sit with you and talk about any behaviour you’d like to address during our walk. If you have a training regime, we will follow it to ensure your pet’s success, and well-being, and address any potential triggers during our time together.

Will you transport my pet in a vehicle?
Happy Paws walkers use their vehicles to take pets to parks and green areas. Your pet(s) will not be left in a car without the supervision of a staff member. There will be no more than 2-3 dogs (size depending) in the vehicle at all times. Contact us if you have any questions about transportation.
